IAF International Astronauts Chapter

The IAF International Astronauts Chapter stands a flagship initiative of the º£½ÇÖ±²¥, designed to convene astronauts and the global space community within a distinguished, high-impact forum.

This exclusive Chapter provides a rare platform where astronauts from around the world engage directly with policymakers, scientific leaders, industry pioneers, students, and the public - sharing authentic human spaceflight experiences while inspiring the next generation of explorers.

Deeply rooted in the global astronaut community, the initiative benefits from the legacy and active collaboration of the Association of º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Explorers (ASE) – a prestigious international body founded in 1985 by Apollo astronaut Rusty Schweickart, and fellow pioneering space explorers.

Within this framework, the IAF Astronauts Administrative Committee (ACC) works in close synergy with ASE, ensuring the Chapter reflects shared values of international cooperation, lived spaceflight experience, and global outreach.

The IAF International Astronauts Chapter is a VIP-curated, recurring programme embedded within IAF major events – including the International Astronautical Congresses (IAC) and IAF Global Conferences. It brings together astronauts representing diverse nations, and generations of human spaceflight.

Launched in 2023, the Chapter is organized by the IAF and hosted annually by a national space agency, steadily establishing itself as a hallmark of prestige and influence within the global space ecosystem.

Upcoming Events:

  • IAF Global º£½ÇÖ±²¥ Conference on Climate Change (GLOC 2026) - Kigali, Rwanda
  • 77th IAC 2026 – Antalya, Türkiye
